This novella in verse moved me to chills and teary eyes. It’s an exploration of language and humanity through the story of a dad who loses his wife, kids who lose their mother, and the crow that helps them through it. It’s weird and beautiful, disturbing and lovable. Even though I am quite different from the voices in the book, it still helped me cope with my own feelings of grief, which I think is a testament to its success. Very much worth the read.

Really beautiful and odd little piece, but I really enjoyed it.

Not for the recently bereaved, in my opinion. It's more something for when someone wants to reflect on grief and everyday life through that lens.

Gorgeous and heart wrenching.

Just be good and listen to birds.

A beautiful, nuanced exploration of grief in a format anyone who has lost someone immediate in their lives will understand. There is no other rating to give.
