[Note: I received an ARC of this book from the publisher]
When I started this book, I have to admit that I wasn't sure I was going to like it. Keeping the characters straight was a problem (keeping Sara and Kat straight was a big issue-- I had to keep looking at the title for a friendly reminder) and the style of jumping back and forth in time wasn't my favorite. However, the book quickly became a story I didn't want to put down. And I suspected the killer of Sara quite early in the story so it was fun to see all the pieces come together. The author is a great storyteller, going into heart-wrenching detail at key opportunities and skipping over the boring details when needed. I am quite interested in reading some of the other books she has written and hope that they also have the perfect blend of mystery/thriller with a touch of slight romance as this book.
I would highly recommend this book to friends looking for sharp writing that isn't full of fluff.

Thriller/Suspense/Mystero authors love me because I'm not smart enough to figure out who the killer is until it's revealed.
This was really good. I was clueless about everything. The damn cat could have done it for all I knew.

Would have been better without the inappropriate cop/victim boring romance.

I really liked all the twists and turns in this book, but it did mean that there wasn’t time for side characters.
I liked seeing how Kat tried to solve her sister’s murder, because let’s be honest, Luke didn’t find out anything. Sure, he tried interrogating people, but the information always came from Kat. I liked how you got to see the scenes where she talked to different people and connected the dots together.
For a while I did suspect the person who did it, but then as the book went on I kind of forgot about it. However, I did not guess who Kat’s fan was and definitely not their actual intent.
I liked this book and couldn’t wait to see what would be revealed next, even though it wasn’t entirely for me.
4.5 stars.
An interesting mysyery about a woman trying to find out who killed her sister ten years earlier. I enjoyed the characters and the murder investigation was definitely intriguing. The small town setting made for a bit of a claustrophobic read. An excellent plot twist disproved my theory about the killer's identity.

Yeah this was alright. Wasn’t expecting much from it but I enjoyed the moral ambiguity of a lot of the characters and I liked how the resolution wasn’t necessarily “tidy”.

Liked:
- Setup. Kat's backstory was good. She was not the perfect person in her teenage.
- Mystery - The timeline was woven well with jumps to the present and the past. I liked that the story unfolded slowly. It wasn't a great mystery. I still guessed the killer fairly early but the twist was sort of unexpected.
Dislikes:
- Romance was fairly easy with no build-up, no growth.
- Kat: She behaved TSTL frankly. I don't know how much I could have taken more had not the book ended.
