I honestly feel this is Erica Spindler's best book. Looooved it.
I enjoyed this book far more than I expected and it propelled Erica Spindler to the top of my to-read list. I enjoyed how she created characters and made you care about them. I enjoyed her storytelling and how she unfolded little plot twists and managed to keep you engaged but guessing. But, most of all, I enjoyed the bit of romance she inserted into this thriller/mystery--I didn't realize how much I'd been missing reading a little romance until this hit.
I also really liked the setting that Spindler picked for this--a small town where people have their preconceived notions and are witnesses and gossips. Kat was a feisty protagonist to follow and her journey to the truth was one I was happy to embark on.

I must say I think I changed my mind on who did really did it like 3 times!! In my opinion that makes a good thriller/mystery and a real page turner. I really enjoyed this book, I just wish it had more of what happened after they found out who did it? Like for example where they were 6 months later.. Oh well maybe there will be a sequel maybe not..
About a quarter into the book, I had figured out who really did it. I believe that the author had too many suspects...everyone the main character came across was a suspect. I also don't like the fact that a romance had to come into play. Over all it was a quick read for me and I enjoyed it.
I was disappointed in this. I added it to my TBR because a library patron had just finished it and was raving about it, and I was pretty excited to read it. It started out strong--the plot grabbed me immediately, but the writing just wasn't strong enough to make the book great. The characters were flat, the twists weren't twisty (because, you know, the characters were flat), and the romance aspect was lacking. It kills me because there was so much potential! But, overall, the book just lacked passion.
Read this under the title 'Don't look back', a brilliant book, couldn't put it down. An intriguing plot with plenty of twists. Like this author's books.
