It’s Just Business takes a unique spin on the enemies-to-more trope by throwing together two people who won’t admit to each other that they’re enemies! I liked the tension that was built throughout the story and think it was nicely resolved. I also liked the representation of strong female friendships!

If you’re interested in a funny, Hallmark-like romance read, It’s Just Business is right for you! It’s Just Business releases March 25.

You know that moment when you find an amazing new-to-you author? All you want to do is read absolutely everything they have available— but slowly as to savor your time. Yeah? That’s Summer Dowell for me.

While I only discovered her like a month ago, when the ARC of her latest book dropped into my inbox I knew I needed to give it the time it deserved. I sat down at least a dozen times to read one sentence, then quickly put it back down and tell myself that I needed to wait.

The arrival of the weekend meant my wait was finally over, and oh boy was it worth it.

Summer must know some flighty artists in her life because Haley was perfection. Her lack of structure and constant tardy-ness was so warmly sculpted, just enough to love but not enough to annoy. Her inner struggle was comically relatable, and her cunning retaliation was always just bordering too-far.

Austin, oh Austin. By chapter six I had no idea how I would ever love him, let alone cheer for his love story. His internal debate gave me hope, and his kind heart eventually won me over; but it was a defiant win. [Small] Spoiler alert, he got his comeuppance otherwise it would never had happened!

What a fantastic follow-up to If It’s Perfect, I am [figuratively] counting the days to book three [only because— well you know— this one isn’t even out yet]. Do yourself a favor and pre-order it now and buy a case of powdered donuts in time for release March 25th.

Thank you to the author for sending me an eARC of this book. I read the first book in this series last year and really enjoyed it, so I was excited to read this book as well.

This book is the equivalent to a Hallmark-type movie (in a good way). I would categorize it as a clean romance with lots of cute and funny moments.

The chemistry between Haley and Austin was great, and their banter was a lot of fun. I also thought that they had several unique "dates." Although, their first date was not realistic or safe from a woman's perspective.

This book has a revenge plot which isn't really my thing. That being said, I still found it laugh out loud funny and swoony at times.

Even though I didn't want to like Austin because of what he did to Haley, I still ended up liking him because of how awkward and funny he could be.

Overall, this was a nice fluffy romance that would be good to pick up when you're having a bad day. It definitely made me smile, so I would recommend it.

Oh my gosh, I absolutely loved this book! Summer is one of my favorite authors, and I was so excited to read her newest book. She does an amazing job at writing rom-coms!

This was a hate to love romance, with the best characters. Haley was just the greatest! Between her inner struggle, always being late, and quirkiness, she was so entertaining. Austin, was such a great guy, even if he did originally mess up Haley’s plans. But, it made for such a fun plot when Haley decides to sabotage Austin’s plans for his new restaurant. All the plans Haley made were hilarious, I was giggling the whole time reading this book!!

I just loves this book so much! I thought all the characters were amazing. I loved Haley’s friends that decided to help her sabotage Austin’s restaurant. They were all so funny! I thought the chemistry between Haley and Austin was so great! You’re going to be hooked right from the start, you won’t be able to put this book down. This is a clean romance, and I highly recommend it!! Also, make sure to have powdered donuts on hand while reading this book.

Y'all, Summer's romcoms are always fluffy and witty...which is justttt how I like them!! And even though I adored the first book of The Wedding Business Series (If It's Perfect: A Romantic Comedy, aka Hope's book)–which, as a fellow type one, how could I not?–I actually enjoyed Haley's book more. 👀😱

So, why was that? Well...honestly? This book was just so MUCH FUN! Not that Hope's book wasn't, but this was just a different kinddddd of fun. The pranks were crazy in a totally Haley-way; and while that wasn't the most mature route to handle everything, her antics (along with her accomplices) were goldennn. Maybe some of the book was a little over-the-top, BUT THAT'S ONE OF THE BEST PARTS ABOUT ROMCOMS!

I did feel bad for Austin though, lol. Despite his sneakiness in the beginning, and his original decision of not coming clean to Haley, he really was a sweet guy. I know I was definitely swooning. 😍 Likeeeee, during a certain "car scene." Actually, a couple of different "car scenes," now that I think about it. 🤔

Oh, and that ending (as well as the epilogue) was ADORABLE! I loved them both! *chef's kiss*

As far as content goes: Clean!! Any suggestive material was extremelyyyy minor, so no worries there. Dishonesty was part of the plot, and Haley's mom had some relationship struggles that were talked about...but I wasn't bothered by either of those aspects.

So, I'm going to end this review by saying that I just really loved the book. I enjoyed Haley's relationships with her sister and friends (totallyyyy spot-on, because all I could think about was me and my sisters lolll). The chemistry between Haley and Austin was TOO CUTE (all their little run-ins were just perfecttt). And even though I didn't always feel the hate-to-love vibes, they wereeee more present at certain times...and I was definitelyyyy a fan of them (HOW COULD I NOT BE?!). 👏💗
