DID NOT FINISH

I thought the book was good, but I felt like it peaked too early and then it was a lot of book left and I lost interest

These MCs are so complex, yet loveable. I laughed the whole time. I even cried a little bit. This book made me want two boyfriends.

I started off likening the book. The spice level was top notch and the storyline had some hope. But it seems at some point in the writing process, the author changed course. For example, Cash was initially written as a sub and then once they get with Frankie, he became a dom? Her descriptions of the men changed over time too. The ending of the book was rushed and drawn out at the same time. The spice also fizzled out less than half way into the book.

I love this book! It’s witty, delightfully written and courageously bold to address fat phobia, homophobia, colorism/texturism, church hurt, depression/anxiety and patriarchy in a real loving and… very smutty way! It’s a dream! To have a story of a beautiful dark skinned Black, curvaceous, sex positive, intelligent woman be THE center of a trouple/polyamorous relationship is…just challenging heteronormativity without preaching is fantastic writing. It’s love. It’s human. It’s embracing the best of us to normalize how we want to be loved and by whom.
Now I didn’t give it a 5 for one reason: I consider only 1 chapter that the two men showed that they loved each other rather than just saying it to be a major flaw. I was hoping for more emotional intimacy between them. I was looking for a moment when they pledged their lives to each other or laying out conditions for each other as they did with Glory. Spoiler alert: it seems they vowed/married her but not each other. I thought this was a misstep by the author.
All that said, I will be reading this author’s entire catalog. Kudos, Aria Daze!!!

new fav author? yes

When I say I’m looking for polyam rep featuring people who look like me, this is what I mean. This was a great story about what different love looks like and how communication is so important in all relationships. I also enjoyed all of the different family dynamics that existed between our main MCs. There was tough discussions but I think the author did an amazing job telling a genuine story full of layers. Can’t wait to read more!
