I'm not sure this one came together for me as well as some previous books. While I find Ariadne Oliver compelling as a character, I generally don't like the plot of the books where she appears as much. I, like Poirot, kinda miss Hastings.
Anyhoo...
The Queen of Mystery is not quite as on her game, but she's still sharp enough to craft a twisty mystery.

While I always enjoy Hugh Fraser's narration, I had to re-read parts of this on my Kobo to get the plot straight. Listening to the audiobook, if I let my attention stray for one moment, I lost the thread. Even reading back and understanding the basics, the motivations and details still don't make total sense to me. I like the characters, but it's not my favorite Poirot mystery.

Charming. Love the scene where poirot has drinks with friends and shares more about the mystery than he maybe would otherwise. He is being called old and elderly now, really in a new phase of life.
