I have tried to read this series several times and came back to it again. Not only did it make me super nostalgic, but it also reminded me how much I enjoy the story and characters in this story.
i can’t in any way give this series anything under 4 stars, i’m just too emotionally attached to it.
the action kicks off from the very beginning and you never get a chance to be bored. there’s so many pieces of the puzzle already thrown at you, which might be confusing if you’re just starting this for the first time, but as the story progresses it becomes so satisfying to see how many clues were right there from the start. one thing i always loved about this series was how everything fit together and how all the character’s stories were intricately woven together, and it’s nice rereading it now (altho admittedly my memory of the plot is very vague at best), knowing how things unfold for them, and realising how amazing their development is.
anyway the nostalgia was too much, i’m so happy to be returning to this story and these characters. i also love seeing how much the art has improved over the series!

This is the trippiest manga that I’ve read in awhile. Good lord. I was fairly well focused/wasn’t too distracted while reading it, either, so my confusion wasn’t due to that. I may try to continue the series because this first volume did illustrate Oz’s confusion and shock very well... but it was also very trippy, probably a good comparison to what Lewis Carroll’s contemporaries thought when he wrote Alice in Wonderland.
Very interesting introduction to the story! I'm excited to see how this continues and what Oz's sin is!

DNF. The plot and backstory was disjointed and I had a hard time following.
