This was a beautifully written book about a dozen faithful women who have lived in the last several centuries. It highlights their faithfulness and endurance, but it also discusses their flaws because they are human. My favorite part about this book is that it is meant to be applied; it has so many questions to ponder or journal about it. If you are a woman who is working on endurance and humility, this is a great book.

I read this book in community, as a book-and-Bible study through my church. These brief biographies were an interesting starting place for a number of conversations, and reflecting on another person's life laid bare always seems to encourage vulnerability in such groups. It was a good series of discussions we had, journeying through the accounts of these women, some familiar and many new.

Highly recommend this book. What encouragement I received from exploring the stories of 12 different women and their faithfulness to God amidst immense suffering and pain. Praise God for their testimonies. They are ordinary women whose lives reflected a steadfast trust in Jesus Christ.

3.5 ⭐️ I really appreciated the diversity of women profiles in this book! Some of the chapters felt a bit choppy and hard to follow, and since it’s a collection of short biographies it felt like there was a lot missing! But I do look forward to reading more about several of these women now thanks to the introduction from this book.
