Man. I have only been reading this book for a good 4 months now on-and-off so I would say it's pretty slow (not in a bad way), in a relaxing, literary way. I felt this way about writers and lovers by lily king, which I also rated 5 stars.
The characters were all so deeply flawed and I really can not defend any of them (except maybe Owen). Their relationships with each other are all so complicated and entangled and it's just such a great book.
Also it is giving very much Atonement. Fuck you Briony (Nora) just keep your mouth shut, honestly. look what you DID
I knew Owen was going to die, but murder??????????????? Jesus
the writing was gorgeous. others found it dull but I found it very poetic and charming. my heart broke for gus only when she was betrayed by Alison/Nora, and when she lost Owen. every other time, I did not feel sorry for her. Well, now I guess I could say I'm sorry for her now
