In this book, the reader follows Juliet's journey of coming out, and also beginning to learn about queer culture, intersectionality, and how whitewashed mainstream feminism is. Juliet asks really important questions about how to center BIPOC voices, and experiences the need to unlearn and own up to unintentional harm, exclusion, and erasure of peoples' identities. This book was also about Juliet's heartbreak, and her journey to stand up for herself, to not forgive harm done to her so easily, and to be unabashedly herself. I would recommend this book to everyone, especially if you have ever been confused about why universalizing femme experiences is harmful and if you've wondered how to go about learning socially sensitive things without being a burden to marginalized people.
