Super cute. I've really enjoyed both Jillian Meadows books I've read in the past month and can't wait for more books from her.

This was a pretty standard christmas romance. Its basically the miscommunication troupe wrapped in a “they don’t actually like me its just the season” bow. I do like the concept of older brother’s best friend but this was weird because the FMC kept referring to the MMC as her brother.
Can people in romance novels just speak to each other like normal human beings??? Being in love shouldn’t hinder your ability to tell your lover how you feel. This book especially was bad because they kept hooking up under the guise that it was “only one night” but neither of them actually wanted it to be just one night. JUST SAY YOU WANT THE OTHER PERSON. YOU KNOW WHATS SEXY??? FEELING WANTED! COMMUNICATING LIKE YOU HAVE A FRONTAL LOBE!
Books are so much more compelling when there is an actual conflict and not just a made up conflict for the sake of it.
Probably a 2.5 rounded up for the cute adoption at the end.

This was a straight forward Christmas rom-com (although it was spicier than I was expecting). If you go into this book expecting something light and festive, you’re going to enjoy yourself.
Best friends brother or older brothers best friend are two of my favorite tropes. This story is about Lena and her brother’s best friend, Gavin. She’s been pining for him since she met him ten years ago, and now after years of not seeing each other, they’re stuck in the same place for Christmas.
The good: the tension between the two MCs is fun and this story doesn’t make you wait forever for a slow burn (the book is under 250 pages so how could it?). The steamy payoff is hot and the third act conflict is so light that it almost doesn’t exist.
The bad: sometimes an author comes up with a nickname that makes you giggle or squeal. Sometimes you imagine a male audiobook narrator purring that nickname into your ear. This book went with a nickname that was neither of those things. Maybe it’s because my real life brother used to call me a menace, but it wasn’t sexy.

“Fuck all that. Wreck my plans. Obliterate them. You’re my dream. None of it matters compared to you.”
Looking for a holiday romance that’ll make you giggle, swoon, and maybe even blush? Wreck My Plans has you covered with all the tropes you love: age gap, brother’s best friend, only one bed, and “it’s always been you.”
The Gist
Lena’s back home for the holidays, feeling lonely and over it, when she runs into Gavin—her brother’s best friend and the guy who’s been secretly pining for her for years. He’s sweet, a little broken, and so selfless it hurts. (And yes, he’s the kind of older man who knows his way around an IRA and your coffee order. Swoon.)
The chemistry? Explosive. The tension? Through the roof. And when things finally heat up? Let’s just say Gavin’s filthy mouth delivers.
