after reading an intense thriller, this was a nice comfy breather to cleanse my mind with afterwards. the slow burn was paced well, their chemistry was great and im a huge fan of the age gap and brother's-best-friend tropes, so this worked out nicely for me even though i do think the impact of the reason why gavin ghosted lena and the entire family for three years wasn't really hitting as well as i think the author hoped. besides that though, i did resonate with both lena and gavin and their own problems as characters. from gavin's abandonment issues and fear of losing lena and the santoses to a point where he tries to keep them all at arm's length even thought its painful for him, to lena's self-doubt, loneliness and fear that she'll never find her true calling and place in life. great characterization paired with some lighthearted but spicy romance is always a recipe for a good time in my opinion, so i think this novel checks the boxes. 3.25 stars.

it wasn’t a masterpiece but i had a good time. i didn’t love the ending but i adored the epilogues.

My first holiday read of the season and it was super cute!
The third act “breakup” felt a bit dramatic given how clearly in love with one another MC’s were but the epilogues made up for it with just how cute and feel-good they were.
I would’ve liked to see more development of the characters independent of one another— more of Gavin’s passion for architecture in his POV and more of Lena’s artistry in her POV, but still a fun and easy read to start the month off with.

I went in with zero expectations and I had such a fun time with this book. I loved the family dynamics, the mutual pining, dual POV, and the found family part for Gavin.
I loved the tension that was building and how obvious everything was to everyone except them.
This also has to be one of the only epilogues with babies that I thoroughly enjoyed and believed. Their love was so true and pure. Loved this!!!!
