I really enjoyed this! I don’t think I really knew what it was about before I started it but it was a fun and fast read.
Gavin grew up in the foster care system and never felt like he had a family until his best friend’s family took him in. However, when Gavin’s best friend’s little sister turns 19 he starts to really notice her. The. He falls for her but tells no one.
Lena has always liked Gavin but a few years ago she thought she would see how he felt about her. That didn’t go well and Gavin ended up leaving. Now a few years later and they are both back for Christmas and under the same roof.
I liked this one so much I put the author’s next book on my TBR.

This is my first book by Jillian and OMG... I can't tell you how much I loved it!!! It was a quick and easy read, with an emotional but light-hearted plot (touches on abandonment and foster care - please read CW/TW!), that made me just want to wrap Gavin up in a big ball of fluff and protect him!
The secondary characters in the book I couldn't have adored more and the love they had for Gavin was so heartwarming (especially Auggie & Mama Santos) who treated him as family.
But on a final note, let me just say....

I read a review that said this was like a spicy hallmark movie in book form and I couldn’t agree more! I’m normally not one to favor shorter books but this one was great! I was looking for a little holiday romance and this one delivered! The book follows Lena as she returns home for the holidays after losing her job. She has no idea what she’s going to do with her life and she gets even more confused when old feelings resurface between her and her brother’s best friend, Gavin. This book stands out for me because while shorter books typically have that “instant love”, which I’m not a fan of, this book starts off with Lena and Gavin already having history so it was very easy to get swept away in the feelings and the holiday festivities that take place in the book. Gavin is the best. I can’t say why without spoiling certain parts of the book(*cough cough* peppermint mocha), but just trust me! Found family, second chance romance, brother’s best friend, forced proximity and the cherry on top, he’s obsessed with her IN THE BEST WAY. Also that hot tub scene… *chefs kiss*
