Read this book on my most recent plane ride and absolutely loved it. It did feel a little rushed? But overall very good. I understand the need for it to be rushed- as the book takes place over a week long Christmas holiday trip back home. I am a lover of the “this was a long time coming” type tropes so this book definitely delivered in that department.

3 weird parasocial references to Taylor Swift which are par for the course with this title but the way the story has awkwardly shoved Christmas references into the story in an unnatural way breaks immersion 🤷♀️
That being said, this is very spicy and you'll like it if you really like love interests who are obsessed with a woman but think they are the biggest worm and characters who invent fake reasons for why their love is forbidden

1.5/5
Well this wrecked my plans for starting the year with a decent book because this was not good. Also his pet name for her was "little menace" Imao help.
If I tell someone ”you’re like a brother to me” or “you’ll always be my brother”, and he still comes on to me, I will call the police. This is a brother’s best friend/age gap romance and idk Gavin has abandonment issues from his childhood which I get, but he’s also like… 40 now…. while Lena is just there swooning because he remembered her coffee order (so that’s where the bar’s at I guess?).
I just thought it felt off, I mean Gavin saw her once a year and then got into the dumbest conflict and comes back 3 years later and is all yep she’s still hot. Like why did they even love each other, there was no background story?? And I didn’t even get a cute Christmas setting.
Anyway I’m not giving it a one star solely because it wasn’t offensive. Truly my fault for reading a Christmas romance past Christmas.

It was cuteeeee. I liked the pairing and even the age gap felt handled maturely. Also bi representation? Yay!
