50% couldn’t finish it

2 stars. When I first started reading this book I had hope that it was going to be pretty good, the synopsis intrigued me, everything was looking good, but by around 50% I just wanted it to end already! No, really I felt it had so many pointless dialogs that didn't really add to the story and it just became repetitive that I couldn't help but roll my eyes. The reason I gave it more than 1 star is because it had one or two moments that I thought it was going to get better, but other than that most of the book was just meh, and I would say also a bit predictable.

Cates created a whole new world for me with the Scottish Mafia. I want my very own Sinclair! Unique plot line loved Blue.

This book was SO good! I fell in love with Georgia Cates when I read her for the first time just last month. I knew I wanted to read everything she wrote after reading her Beauty trilogy and this book does not disappoint. This book is darker than the other Georgia Cates trilogy I read, and it worked really well. Darker in regards to the characters' past, occupations and even personalities; with lying and deceit being a critical part of this tale. There is violence mentioned but it is not heavily featured, so if you are squeamish don't let this turn you away! I loved that this book also had the things I would expect from a Georgia novel: romance and HOT scenes with a story and characters to care about. While A Necessary Sin has all that along with the amazing Georgia Cates writing, it also brought a completely different story.

The book has the kind of HOTNESS below and also makes me care about the main characters Bleu and Sinclair. I love that Georgia used alternating chapter POVs from Bleu and Sinclair, so we could really get to know each character well and learn about them through their own eyes and "words".
Bleu had something horrible happen to her when she was a child and she has carried that with her her whole life. She thinks she can bring a horrible person to justice and make that person pay for what they did to her childhood. This has motivated Bleu's life growing up, the idea of making this monster pay.

Have you ever heard of and/or watched the tv show Revenge? If not, here's my simple explanation: a 20-something women spends years preparing herself to exact revenge against those who wronged her father by placing herself within these people's lives. This book definitely reminded me of Revenge in ways but honestly?? This book is WAY BETTER!!

This is one of those reviews where I say very little because I loved knowing only what the blurb gave and being surprised with where Georgia took it, and this was just book 1!! I can't wait to see what happens with the next 2 books. The ending AGHHH!!!! Georgia has a knack for leaving readers desperate for book 2 and this one is no exception. I loved every second of this story and ride and that ENDING!!!

Note: I received an eARC of this book in exchange for an honest review but this does not change how I review a book.

This was my very first Georgia Cates book and I loved it! I was hooked and always on edge while reading which is one of my favorite things about going into a book blind. A friend recommended this author to me and I just happened to pick this book first and it did not disappoint. The ending had me running to get the second one. Georgia Cates is now a go to author for me and this book is definitely a must read!

Bit of a slow start, and I was almost ready to give up (just my mood). Very glad I stuck with it. I couldn't put it down.
