Such an easy read, relatable in aspects and just the right amount of squishy. Swoon-Worthy if you will....

I love this book. Definitely one of my favorite romance books I’ve read. First of all, I read when in Rome before this so I loved getting to see Amelia and Noah again as well as all the other characters coming back.
But oh man, Will got me. I found myself relating to Annie a lot and can I just say I want a man like Will. The way that he was able to help her grow into herself just made my heart so happy to watch. And that she was able to help him work through his own problems and that in the end they were both able to come out stronger and better for it. They are so stinkin cute and I absolutely loved reading this book.

“I’m quickly learning I’d do anything for you.”

I love Will so much in this and he is my favorite character in this series. I can’t wait to read about all the other sisters. It was so cute and so romantic and I love it.

This was certainly a cute and lovely story but my problem is that it was just that - CUTE! It did make me tear up a few times and I loved, I truly LOVED how the characters evolved and saw what they need and want in the future. I related to Annie a lot because I used to have the same reputation as her just on a smaller scale but I hate how villainous it made her sisters look. That rubbed me the wrong way. And it simply didn't make me want to read and keep reading it, it didn't grab my attention, certainly not the way When in Rome did. So I think I am in the minority when I say I prefer the first book. I will keep reading and I am DYING for James and Maddie's book, I ate those tiny little crumbs about them now give me more! All in all I think I would like it more if it weren't as hyped up.

Okay, this book was super cute! It was a lighthearted, fluffy, and easy-read romance. It’s basically the book equivalent of a Hallmark movie. The author’s style was very engaging  and held my attention from the start. I also loveee a dual POV storytelling choice for a fake dating trope. I found the FMC to be relatable in a lot of ways especially with her struggles with social anxiety, her people-pleasing, “good girl” tendencies and her search for finding who she is and what makes her happy outside of the expectations/pressures of others. The MMC is literally the definition of a man written by a woman haha.

Like I said, it gave me similar feelings to a hallmark movie. Was it a bit cheesy and predictable at times? Yes. Did the characters seem a bit unrealistic and could they have had more depth? Also yes. Did I still gobble it up like a guilty-pleasure because it was a fun read that gave me warm-fuzzies? Absolutely!  Honestly, sometimes this type of book exactly what I’m looking for, especially after some heavier reads. This book didn’t blow me away, but it certainly hit the spot and I really enjoyed it!

If you’re looking for a feel-good romance that gives you all the same warm, fuzzy, comforting feelings as a Hallmark movie, definitely check this one out!

SIDENOTE 1: You don’t have to read When In Rome before this; however, in retrospect, I think I would’ve gotten a bit more out of this one if I had done so.

SIDENOTE 2: I had seen “bodyguard” listed as a trope and assumed it was a bodyguard romance. Bodyguard romance is one of my absolute favorite tropes…but this one was a bit of a twist on that where he was her friend’s bodyguard rather than hers so it doesn’t really count as a bodyguard romance IMO, not the same dynamic. Oh well.🤷‍♀️
