Una lettura carina, con una piacevole atmosfera natalizia australiana, diversa dal solito bianco Natale. Il formato a calendario dell’Avvento è originale e rende il libro scorrevole, ma lo sviluppo resta un po’ superficiale. 
Rispetto agli altri romanzi di Stevenson, questo è meno incisivo: la trama è più semplice e la risoluzione, seppur coerente, finisce per essere un po’ banale e teatrale. Ideale come lettura leggera durante le feste, ma nulla di memorabile.
