I enjoyed this read. Despite some moments of frustration, especially when the characters just wouldn't communicate appropriately with each other, I liked the overall story.
The twists were kind of predictable, however it could be possible that maybe I'm better at paying attention to quick details and mentions.
I was a little disappointed with the spice, almost like there was too much holding out and it was teasing, but overall, I enjoyed it.

I held off on reading King of Envy because of the mixed reactions, but I’m glad I waited and gave it a fair chance. I really liked this one. Ana Huang delivered again, and Vuk? He’s everything. Broody, silent, focused—and when it comes to Ayana, he’s completely gone. He’ll do anything for her, no hesitation. That level of devotion? Loved it.
Vuk isn’t the typical rich guy who solves everything with money. He’s darker, more intense. There’s something raw about him, like he’s always one step away from snapping—but only the world gets that side. With Ayana, he’s different. His silence made every word hit harder, and the way he communicated through small actions or ASL just made it all feel more intimate.
Ayana was a strong character in her own right. She’s open, direct, and doesn’t shy away from difficult conversations. No dragging out drama or miscommunication. And she never tried to change Vuk—she accepted him as he was. I liked how she stood her ground and didn’t let his intensity scare her off. It felt real.
The romance was heavy on obsession and yearning, but never toxic. Vuk aches for her, but it never feels like too much. Their connection builds in a way that makes sense. I especially loved how her family treated him like one of their own—knowing how much he needed that sense of belonging.
This book felt heavier than the previous ones in the series. Not darker in a typical “dark romance” way, but more emotionally intense. There's a roughness to it that made the stakes feel higher, the emotions sharper. And that worked so well for Vuk’s story. He might just be my favorite MMC from this series so far.

This story was EVERYTHING! The narration was perfection! The chemistry! The plot! The smut!!! Vuk & Ayana have my entire heart. Vuk is scarred, beautiful, sexy, bilingual, strong, and fierce! Ayana is beautiful, sexy, smart, also bilingual & a badass!! I am absolutely obsessed with them both!! This is my new favorite of the series! A scarred man who signs & speaks Serbian who has a soft spot for cats & the love of his life! *SWOON* Vuk & Ayana forever!
