I personally just didn't like the banter between any of the characters. Very immature to me, like maybe they were in high school and annoying. This could totally just be me though.

This was a quick, fun read about a woman trying to let go of her past, and the baseball player who wants more from her than she might be willing to give.

"I wanted to look away, but I couldn’t. Something about him—the same magnetism that had drawn me at the game—was still working against me now."

Right from the start, Easton and Kyrie are drawn together. It soon becomes clear that she might not be ready for what he wants. Kyrie is afraid to trust in something that has burned her in the past.

"But there was still a place inside me, a secret place, where I stored up all the hurt he’d caused, all the humiliation, all the loneliness. It was like a lockbox, but I’d gotten so used to carrying the weight around inside me, I didn’t know what I’d do if I threw it overboard. Would I sink right along with it?"

This book was funny, full of raunchy humor, and the secondary characters were quite entertaining. I liked the relationships between Kyrie and her best friend and Easton and his sister. It was nice seeing the hero chase after the girl and not the other way around.

"I threw my warm up pitches, but not without ogling Kyrie every chance I got. I even smiled at her. I never smiled on the mound. You’re so f***ed."

3.5 stars. Kyrie was a bit too hot and cold for me, esp. in the beginning, and I hated her reaction when Sean came back. I get being shocked, but I don't get being unable to deny that you were still in love with an a-hole who cheated on you when your current bf asks you about your feelings for your ex. Frustrating! But I did enjoy the story for the most part.

2.3 Stars. Random number I know. But 2 Stars felt like not enough but 2.5 felt like wayyy too much.

I honestly don’t know why I do this to myself. Really. Insta love stories never work for me. Ever. I question way to much about the authenticity of the characters and their stories. So they love each other.....but neither knew each other’s birthday, or their family, or even their favorite damn color. He doesn’t even know her favorite go to I feel like crap make me better food. How is this surface lust/I really can’t be without you even though we only met like a day/week ago love suppose to get you through the mood swings, the insecurities and the lemon squares that is life?!? HOW CAN HE RUN TO THE STORE AT 3 AM TO GET HER FEEL BETTER FOOD WHEN HE HAS NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS FOR HER?!? (Mini rant: andddd if they knew all this mundane stuff about each other-the stuff that makes each of us who we are-then that didn’t come across in the story for me and is a flaw in the whole character/love story development).

Every person in the book was like “omgeee I have never seen you this happy!! He/she is the one for you”. But like why? Because the sex is good and they have the after glow? Cool. As a reader, I didn’t get to see anything other than the after glow. Soooooo, if there was something else that happened that made these people fall for each other THE READERS DIDN’T “SEE” IT. That’s never fun.

Also this felt very much like a weird mashup of a random Nora Roberts meet/how to lose a Guy in ten days ending. The middle is just blah. Maybe I have just read too much/watched that movie too many times?

Lastly, I know too much about baseball for this story to even work. I more annoyed the basics of America’s pastime couldn’t even be scripted properly. And really, baseball players are not always dumb jocks. Get past the stereotype. Geesh.

So why 2.3 Stars?! Baseball. Duh. And a happily ever after? I question it because who knows if such superficial love will survive the journey of life.

I wouldn't recommend this book and I was really happy to finish it, honestly.

It was like reading a badly written fanfic and the only good thing about it was probably some of the jokes throughout the story. The main characters were childish and stupid 50% of the time to the point where you're just shaking your head going "really?!" . God knows how many times I did that... The bits involving drama were probably the worst because you could tell not a lot of thinking had been done before writing them. It was all a bit ridiculous, really. When it's based on silent treatments and assumptions, it's really lazy writing, to be honest.

To be honest, I'm amazed that I made it to the finish line with this book. Only a couple of pages in and I was already more than done with it after reading that his sister was hitting him as a form of punishment. This was not playfully hitting or mock fight hitting, but with a bat, deliberately and painful and I was weirded out as hell. I wouldn't even think of doing that to my brothers, no matter what they did! (I got better ways to make them pay, but that aside ;) )
I should have taken the hint and put it away, cause it went only downhill after that. There were a lot more WTF, illogical and you've got to be kidding me moments for me. Like which professional sportsman would be thrown off of his game because the one he’s lusting after just showed up during a career defining game? Which one?
The instalust was also absurd, cause how can you lust after someone you've only barely seen in the dark, let alone have spoken too? I don't believe, especially for guys who are all about the visual, it works like that. The bed scenes, too, were ludicrous, with them always being interrupted by something way to imaginative it became bizarre.
Furthermore, none of the characters we're likeable and I got really tired of reading curse after curse after curse. I'm no prude, but I believe even the toughest sailor would get annoyed if he was unable to have a normal conversation every once in a while.
Conclusion: I just wasted my evening and definitely won’t recommend this book!

Great premise, felt rushed.

I enjoyed this book and the witty characters. They were literally laugh out loud funny. The story just felt rushed to me. It seemed like the main characters were only together twice and then suddenly, they were in love?! I think this book would have been a 3 star rating if it wasn't so funny! I LOVED the characters. Worth the read, but don't be surprised when the ending comes sooner than you would have liked.

Cleat Chaser was not for me. I know, I know. I don't know what I was thinking reading this story. I thought it wouldn't be for me, wouldn't be my sense of humor, and I was right. I could just finish this review right there. It is not my sense of humor. *Some spoilers ahead if you decide to read on*

So I started off this story a bit hesitant to read it as I didn't think I would enjoy it. Only I did like the first chapters. Kyrie and her bff at the ball game, Kyrie freaking out because she is attracted to Easton and she can't do anything about that (she dated a ball player before and doesn't want to go there again as it was not good), Easton liking her right away as well and the two of them start to get together. I enjoyed all of that, but then it got to be too much for me. It got to be way too violent which I did not like. I hated Easton's sister. I know it is supposed to be "funny", but no. I couldn't do it. Their relationship is abusive and I don't find that humorous. The first time we meet her she hits Easton as hard as she can because he left a dish in the sink or something. Not like a fun, playing around punch on the arm kind of hit. No like a whiffle ball bat to the privates because he left a dish in the sink. That and she is very crass in a way I don't like and yeah. I hated her and couldn't stand reading her. I didn't find her funny.

Easton gets violent as well. Not against Kyrie or anything, but he loses his temper and destroys things. Not cool man, not cool. When Kyrie's ex shows back up he beats him to a pulp. Which upsets Kyrie and when Easton asks her if she still has feelings for her ex what does she do? Says nothing!! Not one word!! She doesn't even look at Easton. Apparently she loves Easton so much she can't say anything about the loser who was trying to hook up with her that she doesn't like anymore. Nope, why say anything when you can be a blooming idiot and stay quiet and we can have some more drama llama! Yey! It was bad. Really bad.

Oh and Kyrie's job woes? Ugh. I just wanted her to grow the f up and put on her big girl pants and do something! Not everything will fall in your lap! Sometimes you have to work for what you want! Do something!!! Just because you messed up doesn't mean you can't fix it. Yeah, much better to just be all woe is me, my life is terrible then actually say or do anything to change it. Oh, it was annoying. Super annoying. I can't stand whiny people and Kyrie was one of the worst. Too much drama for drama's sake when it didn't need to be there, too whiny, too not my sense of humor. It was a mess for me. Not a fan.

I think that this book could have been really good but got lost in all the crude sexual comments.

I honestly can't tell you a thing about the main characters apart from that they are good looking, can't keep their hands off of each other and what they do for a living. It lacked the depth I hoped to find going into the book. Also, I found myself skipping conversations with Kasey as well as Brandon because all the sexual innuendos were a bit too much IMO. I'm no prude, and maybe it's just the mood I'm in today, but it was just too much.

So if you want to read a rather short, light read with a lot of creative sexual comments, this book is the right choice for you.

This book was super ridiculous. I couldn't get through to the end.
