I think this series got better with book 2!

The 2nd Bootleg Springs book was never my favorite in the series as it's a big departure from the pure energy of Scarlett and hot mess of Devlin's life.

However, on this latest re-read I did find more sweetness in Leah Mae and Jameson's story. Leaving Hollywood behind for a small town is becoming a sub-trope for romance but I liked the remaining fashion angle. As well, I really appreciated Jameson's artistic side.

Not as much on the Callie Kendall mystery in this book. But book 3 is headed by our sheriff's deputy Cassidy so that'll be satisfying.

This was another great addition to this series! I think the mystery aspect of this story is being balanced really well with the whole romance and town shenanigans. Jameson and Leah Mae are too freaking cute and I loved watching them find their way back to one another through the pages of this book. As Hanna Montana said, you can always find your way back home and Leah Mae did just that!

This one wasn’t as good as the first book. I think it’s because I didn’t really connect with the characters. Their love story felt very flat, there wasn’t much tension and when they got together it felt like the book dragged.

Cute read! Easier to get through than the first book! Was hoping to see more of the mystery of Callie play out though in this book.
