I actually really liked this one. I loved Carlos and could relate to him on several occasions. The characters are definitely flawed and can be irritating at times but it is redeemed by the fact that the side characters call the mcs on their bullshit and there is growth. The chemistry is good and I was rooting for this romance. My only qualm was that Nikole has a tendency to make generalizations based on only one experience which was sometimes annoying.

Oh man I wanted to like this one way more than I actually did. It wasn't a bad romance book, it just didn't quite hit in the way I had hoped it would.

The steamy scenes were really fun and I enjoyed the cast of side characters, but some of the dialogue felt very clunky to me and Nik and Carlos were both kind of aggravating main characters. I did listen to this one via audiobook, so it could've been the narrator who made the dialogue feel stilted. It also tipped a little bit into the insta-love category for me. As a born and raised Angelino, I was also a little annoyed that Jasmine Guillory's description of LA felt very one-dimensional and stereotypical, but I can't imagine that would bother most readers.

I still had fun reading this one, and I'm planning on reading the third book in this series, it just wasn't quite my perfect romance.

Pretty solid rom-com style book. I was definitely hooked right at the beginning with the proposal at the baseball game, I thought that was such a unique premise to start the story. I also liked the romance overall. But that being said, it kind of dragged on and I really did not think the characters were as funny as they thought they were lmao. But it was still fun!!
