I just…. Didn’t care. Didn’t care for the story, the characters, the plot… anything. 1.5 stars rounded up to 2 because it’s Schwab

I really enjoy V.E. Schwab as an author, and this book was no different. Very interesting and enjoyable read. A different feel than the other ones I've read with a younger main character - more of a young adult audience vibe.

My Rating Scale:
5 - amazing, beautiful, life-altering, everyone should read
4 - really enjoyed, has staying power, would broadly recommend
3 - enjoyed while reading, limited staying power if any, would only specifically recommend based on interests
2 - didn't care for, would not recommend
1 - got 50% through and disliked so much I could not finish

Started soooo good then turned into a filler episode ?
The plot was underwhelming at the end.

This book is a weird or should I say unique kind of beauty, it's fast pasted what I love and it's weird I love it the plot was okay but the writing style of V.E. Schwab is amazing

The prose is both very readable and beautiful; it had many tropes of the genre but I enjoyed the refreshing take on the family theme and lack of romantic subplot. I swallowed it in a few days.
