Well...I guess I have to admit that I bought this book because of its stunning cover. I mean, LOOK at it. It’s impossible to walk past it.
But this book has issues. Lots of issues. As much as I loved the world and the idea behind this story- the racist aspects and the lack of logic at some points made me rate this with only two stars. It was pretty easy to read and the storyline was quite catchy, but I cannot ignore the subliminal racism, even though it’s probably unintentional.
Such a potential going to waste.

That world building was so fun and interesting. I enjoyed the character development too, and being shown the change rather than told it happened.

I LOVED THIS BOOK. Beyond anything else, the writing was some point confusing but it’s not for children. It’s a YA novel! If you don’t generally read those, you will be thrown off. To all the people saying this book is “terrible, Couldn’t even finish it, all about oppression” you all can read your little “LGBTQ book” and leave this out of it. IT IS NOT ABOUT SEXUALITY PREFERENCES! Yes Agnes is attracted to women, Sera comes from an all women planet. It’s about Sera, who grows up on a planet unlike any other, full of ONLY women. It’s a totally different concept of “other worlds”. Sera then had to sacrifice herself by falling onto the planet they are tethered to so her world can be able to travel to a new planet for a better life. This book is about how she survives, gets back to her planet, and the people she meets along the way and how her perspective changes on “humans” and how she sees everything else. I actually loved this book beyond anything else I’ve read, after reading the many comments about how people gave up on this book because sera realized she liked men instead of women, was absolutely disgusting! She never have met a man, or heard anything about them and her perspective changed once she spent time with them and realized they were not as bad as they were made out to be. When you are groomed to knowing only one thing and never having the chance to know anything else or experience anything else, and you get to experience what something else is like, you’re bound to have some change. She was groomed, to only know women and only like them. YOU CAN CHANGE YOUR MIND ABOUT THINGS ONCE YOU GET TO EXPERIENCE SOMETHING DIFFERENT.

Give this book a chance, it is amazingly written, well made out and a great concept. Absolutely 5 stars in my opinion. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Stopped reading when I realized it was an awful excuse for queer representation. They have 3 moms of different genders/sexes (IDK which it was meant to be). Which is literally just heterosexuality except they all use she/her pronouns.

Next, the first few chapters heavily imply that the main character is aromantic and asexual, or somewhere on that spectrum. Instead, she's the one straight girl from a species which does not have men.

I can't tell if the author was going for homophobia, aspec erasure, queerbait, or was just bad at worldbuilding.

I have no idea why this book is marked as LGBTQIA+, but it should not be.

That's not even getting into the racism of the white people kindly helping save the people of color from their backwards ways.
