This was a wonderful read and is a completely standalone entry in this author's Dominant Men series. Like the others, there is no overlap of story or characters. I really enjoyed this read. It was a slow build up to a great finish. The characters were well drawn & I did like the emotion that you got with both Dale & Cora. My only complaint is that, for me, it felt like it moved a little too slow. I would have liked it a bit shorter with less build up. However, I understand that this is just my personal viewpoint & wouldn't stop me from enjoying future stories from this author.

A promise is sometimes so much more than a promise including hope and something to look forward to. This is an amazing and emotional second chance romance. That is sexy, sweet and is well written and plotted.

I received an advanced copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an unbiased , honest review.

High school sweethearts Cora and Dale meet again when he moves back to their hometown to take over the family business and she comes in for a funeral. They once were completely in love, but were convinced that they were too young to get serious and ended up staying apart.

These are great characters, and their relationship seems very real. I also see their parents POV, when their teenage children start to think about a long-term relationship when they haven't even graduated high school. Still, fate seems to intervene for these two characters, who are surprisingly compatible for two people who spent so much time apart as adults. The book is a little light on the BDSM part, though that seems appropriate since Cora is only starting to explore the world herself. It's still a good book.
