This book was a great read. The emotional rollercoaster that Tori went through because of her poor decisions in men kept me hoping for a happy ending. The sparks flew between her and Miles making the reader aware not only that their love for each other was explosive but that there were feelings between them from long ago that masked themselves as hatred but was so much more. The tragedy in Miles' past with his sister lead him down the path to be the best person to pick Tori up off the floor and help her through her troubled time. This was a fabulous heartwarming story of finding love in the most unlikely place.

I was excited to get an ARC because I loved this series so much! Maybe it was that excitement, maybe it was the length of time since the last Ethan Frost book or maybe it was just the book, but I was sort of unimpressed. I kept reading despite the fact I was literally hearing fingernails on the chalkboard every time Tori had a fit over someone doing something nice yet wouldn't fight for herself when someone did something awful to her. I get Daddy issues (I may have some of my own) but daaang that whole formula of hissy fit and run over something basic got old. The end was very abrupt too. Overall, it was good to visit the characters from the other books. It was still a better story than some today. It was nice to see Chloe's brother Miles sort of battle his demons. Tori, in the end, was a better version of herself. So, it was maybe a 3.5, but I can't make myself round up because of the journey I've been on in this series.

Thank you Tracy for giving us Tori's story. It was much anticipated. I wish there was more to her backstory and her relationship with her dad, but that can be for a little revisit someday. And how you redeemed Miles, sigh, he is definitely swoon worthy and a man that can learn from his mistakes.

I have been waiting for Tori and Miles story for sometime so I has happy to receive an ARC from the publisher through Netgalley to read and review. I very much enjoyed their story. I thought the author wrote Miles character very well. He is a tech geek but very much an Alpha male. He is trying to atone for his failings with is sister Chloe and this causes some issues with Tori and how he tries to care and protect her. His heart is in the right place but he needs to rethink his methods. Tori is an interesting character. She is both strong and vulnerable at the same time. She wears her strength to hide her pain. I liked that we got to finally see her back story and what she had to overcome in order to find her happy ending. This is not an easy love story because both characters are stubborn and tend to not really communicate their true feelings and thoughts to the other but it does end well.

Lost interest part of the way through the book. Had a few good scenes and I wanted to love it, but didn’t.

I didn’t realize this book wasn’t about Ethan and Chloe, and frankly, that threw me off. I felt like there were so many unresolved things from the past three books but we just jumped into Tori and Miles’ story instead. I didn’t seem to care much about either of them; Tori was far too defensive and volatile, while Miles was a bit of a caveman. If both parties got their heads out of their asses for two seconds and had a decent conversation, maybe things would be smoother. I still don’t understand why Tori was so angry and why Miles couldn’t just listen. I think I’m also biased against him because of how he had treated Chloe in the past. Seeing him become the good guy all of a sudden and end up with Chloe’s best friend and most ardent supporter, felt incongruous.

I appreciated the glimpses of Ethan and Chloe, and the plot points about sexual harassment against women and revenge porn was interesting. The epilogue made me emotional, and it was a cute end to the series.

I know I complained a lot about this book but it was interesting enough for me to finish it and I didn’t hate it, I think I prefer the Ethan and Chloe mess of a trilogy to this one though.
