This book was OK, there were a couple spicy scenes that enhanced my rating of the novel. For the most part though, I didn’t love it, nor will I read the subsequent books in the series.
There were waaaay too many storylines to keep up with Calum’s history of sexual abuse at the hands of his foster mother, Kaia’s history of emotional abuse from her father, anything and everything to do with Honour, her dad trying to sell her to to mafia. There were too many moving parts that none of them were given the attention they deserved.
All-in-all, this book certainly wasn’t written with any finesse in terms of the characters trauma, it was thrown in as a way to make one dimensional characters seem more interesting and relatable. If you are looking for something with spicy scenes, this might do the trick but if substance is also something you’re on the hunt for, keep looking.
