Well that didn't take long to read! I was hooked from the first page. I hope the rest of the series is just as good.

So I am giving it 5 stars because it is very well-written with amazing world-building, deeply crafted characters, and a great twisty plot.

I will not be continuing with the series because it is dark. Dark and sad with no relief. Not for me. But a great book nonetheless.

I think I enjoyed this one the most until she meet a certain group of people. I wish they had not been included. Which means book will be about them a lot, and that makes me feel meh...

Anyway. Muse is a halfdemon and someone is trying to kill her. I did like that she was pretty messed up after having been a slave. Ok that sounds bad. Let me rephrase that. She has a real inner demon, and INNER demons. She had stuff to work through.

What she also has was one hot hot demon who wanted to help her, and do her. I get it, I was not supposed to like Akil. But I liiiiiiiiiiiiiked him. He was one fine prince of hell. She will end up with some boring other guy. Sucks for sure.

But even though I enjoyed it, will I read more? Doubtful- The series is taking another turn

I loved this book & can't wait to read others in the series!

I received this book free as an ARC with hopes I would write an honest review.

A quick and fun read. I'm looking forward to the next book.

I would definitely recommend reading the prequel novella first, I think I understood a lot more knowing a bit about the characters origins.

This was such a good surprise! I picked it up because of an Amazon deal, but it didn't think it would draw me in that much.
I loved the main character, and I'm sure she's going to do some badass powerful things later on in this series. She's clearly got daddy issues though, NGL. So she might fall in love a bit too soon for me.

Cool premise, but the plot is confusing, betrayal is rife, and the characters are not likable.

Uma narrativa que questiona a própria existência de céu e inferno, de anjos e demônios, com demônios habitando entre nós, uma protagonista forte, embora nem sempre segura de si mesma. Uma leitura interessante.

I would like to start off by saying the writing was impeccable; a little verbose at times, but there were no misspelled words or grammatical errors.

Now that I got this out of the way, I thought this was a solid first book for an independent series. Granted, I still don't know who the real bad guy is, and Muse was whiney, but she had a pretty good reason to be whiney and have issues.

At this point in time, I don't think I'll continue the series.

This has to be one of the better demon books I have read in a long long time.

So basically we have a half demon girl who has been tortured for most of her life, and then controlled after this. You know what I like it. I like the fact shes pretty agressive in her approach to most things but also turns into a scared kitten around the big bad man. Sometimes it was annoying I felt like shaking her but it shows how damaged she is/was by the amount of abuse in her life.
She isn't perfect.

I like the fact she is very vunerable but also maintains the 'I'm bad' aggression throughout the book - or at least does on my part. There is a slight instant-love thing going on, which gets me going every single time. It isn't that bad but it is close. Thankfully it isn't shoved too far down our throats.
I must admit I knew it was going to happen because I hoped/guessed but only because I like the characters and so I was starting to ship them immediately and I figured out that all wasn't as it seemed so logically it was obvious they'd fall for each other at some point what confused me was when, it sorta just happened... A tad of flirting then wham lets get it on is playing in my head.

Stefan is so sweet, I like that we are kept guessing by him, is he the big bad half blood assassin come to kill our lovely lady or is he the misunderstood double agent, we all think/hope he is going to be?
I actually liked Akil, the demon prince, I was feeling sorry for him at some points of the book because I don't want to believe he is the evil monster and I want to believe he is in love with her however we forget constantly he is the demon prince of greed it should have been obvious he was jealous because he wanted her for himself because she was 'better' than other half bloods in his eyes - not saying she is in actual fact I'm just trying to explain the whole evil greed sin should explain why he is obsessed.

I'm sort of confused with the whole how Stefan is a half blood demon when we meet his father, that confused me. I didn't get that part but maybe I read too fast, or something and I missed it? Probably.

Overall, I really enjoyed reading this book, it was a pleasure, a great first read. A good starter to a series I will continue if I can. When I can.
