Underwhelming. A bit boring before the end. Loved the family dynamics. I hate gingers but loved the male lead muscles description. Loved that the female lead had autism, which made it interesting. The fight was good near the end but their makeup felt rushed. Had potential but overall underwhelming.

this was a nice cozy rom com, but for some reason it took me a while to finish and didn’t really capture my attention that much.

While romance is not always my favorite genre, there are some that I do enjoy. This unfortunately wasn't one of them. The male character was practically perfect in every way, no flaws to be seen in his sex God, hugely endowed, Shakespeare quoting virgin self. And he was constantly objectified throughout for that. The amount of time this man had an erection, someone should have taken him to the hospital. The woman was supposed to be a loveable grump, but somehow was neither a grump nor all that lovable? She pushes away everyone in her life, including family and friends, and has chronic pain in addition to rheumatoid arthritis and an autism diagnosis, all of which are handled well and I appreciated, but I never understood her fear of abandonment by her family. Her one conversation with her mother seemed so open-ended and awkward, and then we never saw the character again.
The conflict of the two not being together due to working together was quickly forgotten, there are random side characters who get several pages of dedication and then are dropped (whatever happened to Ren's villain teammate Maddox? Why did we have to learn about him?) But by far the worst was the near constant Harry Potter references. Okay, Frankie has that as an interest, that's great. But Harry Potter sexual references should never be a thing. Hearing about a wet day at hogwarts in her underwear multiple times was just not it for me.

4.5⭐️ all the feelings! The men in this series are mythical creatures of feminist excellence, I adore them. The FMC is autistic and suffers from an autoimmune disease (so she lives with chronic pain) and the rep is elite. I come from a neurodiverse fam, so loved this very beautiful characterisation—I believe the author is autistic, and you could really feel the own voices vibes here.
I was squealing out loud for the majority of this book at the utter adorableness of these two. Shakespeare club?! The shirt?! Muttered Elizabethan curses?! I was dying

This was a refreshing cute and sweet read!
I enjoyed so much about this book. I loved how different the characters were. Ren Bergman is like this cuddly unrealistically sweet and perfect man. Chloe has no business creating these perfect men !
Frankie is this serious sarcastic hard working woman that is always making sure the hockey team is shining on social media. Ren is a hunky hockey player with a killer smile and a heart of gold. He’s shy and he has been waiting for the right moment to take his shot at Frankie. Frankie has already made up her mind about romance and thinks she can’t possibly have a chance at love with her diagnosis.
I loved that these characters were kind of innocent and relatable. My reading selections don’t often have a shy man and a blunt woman. It was nice to see the characters develop and grow into loving themselves and becoming more confident. I loved the references to Shakespeare and Jane Austin as a lover of the classics. This was a a slow burn with the perfect amount of sexual tension and humor to keep you interested.
