I felt that both characters were somewhat lacking in depth and development. Mara, in particular, failed to leave a positive impression on me, and I found her somewhat whiny. Liam, on the other hand, came across as generic, reminding me strongly of Adam from the Love Hypothesis, a character I wasn't fond of.
The unexpected and abrupt smut scene caught me off guard, and to be honest, I didn't find it enjoyable. The suddenness of it took away from my reading experience and left me feeling uncomfortable.

The story was good but definitely not in my faves of Ali Hazelwood.
I’m typically a fade to black reader so I skip spicy scenes. This book was tricky because the spicy scene came out of nowhere and there was some dialogue I wanted to get that happened during the scene. If you’re in the same boat as me and want to skip that, I have the spoiler in the content warning. 🌶️🌶️🌶️

Under One Roof was a cute start to Ali Hazelwood’s novella collection! The spicy scene was a little weird, but this was generally a fun time. I appreciate the pace that their relationship developed, and am looking forward to reading about Hannah and Sadie. 4 stars.
