Cute but not my fav. I keep trying with the novella, but I think they are too short for me to actually end up liking the characters

I'm not usually one for novellas, but since it was Ali Hazelwood, I had to give it a shot. Overall, I enjoyed it! The writing was quintessential Ali. The characters were relatable, quirky, fun, and extremely intelligent. I think I could have been more invested in Mara and Liam's relationship had it been a full book, but it was still a good time.
It's got everything we've come to know and love in an Ali book: ladies in STEM, large broody men, quirky leading ladies, a ton of super smart talk, and silly shenanigans. At times, some of the political/environmental issues came across as overly preachy, but since these subjects directly affected Mara's job, it was easier to forgive and move past.
Can't wait for the others!

1,5 ⭐️ i didn't feel any chemistry between the two characters. Liam was like a stone cold and boring, and Mila, wait a minute... i forgot her name. Anyway, she was annoying. Isn't she a scientist? she has a PhD, why isn't she smart enough to understand what this guy is saying? but as a short novel, it was okay.
