Go, Dog. Go!

God this was boring, even for a picture book

A variety of different dogs go about their business/adventures: driving cars, partying on boats at night, working, and sleeping (to name a few)...finally leading to an epic party on top of a huge tree.

A classic beginning-to-read book with silly illustrations, rich language, and introductions to basic concepts (colors, numbers, and prepositions).

Too long and for what?

Such a fun list of sight words....

New review: this book bugs me. It's boring and disconnected and all that. But my kids love it.

To make it more interesting, I started adding my own script. At the end at the dog party, I announced "A Drag party! A big drag party!... What a drag party!"

Well, my husband gave me this look like, "What the heck?!" and my kids, not knowing what drag is (and how fun it is!) thought I said, "dragon" so now they want me to read it as a "dragon party." That's more exciting than a dog party, but still, a drag party would be better.

Excellent book. I quote it regularly when I'm around family who will appreciate it.

I kept thinking this book was by Dr. Suess. It isn't. I used this in Spanish class to teach opposites, review colors, and go over some easy dialogue. It is 64 pages.

This Dr. Seuss rip-off does not rhyme and is nonsensical in a way that a small person will demand often enough to make a grown person come to hate it.
