I loved this story of the people from the small towns coming together to welcome the "plane people."

I think these stories would be shocking to a person who's always lived in big cities, but I've lived in a lot of small towns and I'm familiar with this level of hospitality. In Montana, when I was a volunteer teacher, people invited me to birthday parties, holiday parties, powwows, camping trips, funerals, and welcomed me like a long lost relative. Same thing when I lived in rural South Dakota for a summer.

Very heartwarming!❤️

I can't wait to see the musical!!

Such a feel good book documenting just a few days in a small down in a small province in Canada. This book gave me a little more faith in humanity. I read this after watching Come From Away, the amazing musical based on this book. A good book to read in September.

This was such a lovely retelling of this piece of history. I teared up so many times just hearing about the kindness of people. Well done as an audiobook too.
