3.5 stars ⭐️

Nik and Carlos are probably my favorite romance book couple! loved how distinct personalities their personalities were and I loved even more that there was no useless miscommunication drama. They were really secure in their relationship and just overall fun to read about.
One thing I didn’t love was that there was really no plot outside of the romance.

There was no overarching goal.

I liked that the book was low stakes because that was what I was in the mood for but it was almost too low stakes. It was four ⭐️‘s for enjoyment though because I loved the main couple and Nik’s friends were really fun but their personalities blended together a bit.

I feel like I really wanted to give this two stars but personal preference has a lot to do with why I kind of hated this book, full disclosure I couldn’t finish it. I really really tried to keep going and give it the benefit of the doubt but nope I’m not into this whole modern romance genre that has exploded in the last year...

I will say that Nik and Carlos are not my favorite Jasmine Guillory couple. I doubt anyone will ever be able to trump Ben and Anna. They are living legends. But, I think Nik and Carlos were a very cute couple. They definitely did irritate me at certain parts, but what relationship doesn’t? I wish that Carlos would not have shouted “I LOVE YOU” randomly and jolted her up like that. The delivery could have been so much better. I think their fight was pretty weak, but I do love how they realized their love for each other. I love that Nik punched Fisher in the face as well! Overall, it was cute.

Not bad, not great

I really enjoyed her first novel in this series, but this one fell short for me. It felt almost too similar to her previous novel and the characters kind of annoyed me.
