Although the plot is simple and feels a bit repetitive, I enjoy the banter between the characters and the building of this world that they all live in. I like the cult theme and how this whole community interacts.
The spice has really been kicked up a notch but I'm really anticipating the full Bond Group bang.

Content Warnings: sexual content, violence, blood, gore, body horror, death, murder, torture, kidnapping, and war.
Mention of: death of parent[s], toxic relationships, toxic friendships, child abuse, child sexual assault, and alcoholism.

Holy crap, by early afternoon I'd hit about 50% so I decided to do a bunch of house cleaning...then when I go to lay down last night I decide to finish the book...and that ending!

This book had me all kinds of emotional and desperate to start book 5.

i’m so confused rn… i have a lot of questions: why are there so many ppl? why do these characters feel so flat or half assed? wtf is happening? and also why tf is nothing ever happening either?

***sidenote: based on the last couple books the author definitely could’ve portrayed a tortured broody male character without the misogynistic overtones***

A dragon?! Scratches my Fourth Wing itch..
That ending is rough, glad the next book is already out for me to immediately start. I expect that there’s more to the story than I think because there is too much unresolved with Nox for him to die.

I liked the story progression here - there is lots going on, and we finally learn more about the Resistance (except... what exactly they are resisting against? Still not clear to me).
The rest of the bonds get completed here, though one is with... very very questionable consent (on both sides). Consent is kind of implied, but bonding also happens under pressure for one of the participants. I'm not a fan of this... even if it works out in the end. But part of the story is that this coupling is messed up for reasons that predate the events in the books.

The small comments about body size are happening again (in all the books, and I dislike them a lot), and the more we learn about bonds the more they are all hetero somehow? Like... where are the central bonds that are bonded to people of different genders? Why is this all so straight? I feel like that's wasted potential in this universe.

Am already reading the next one and will finish the series, but these basic problems run throughout (occasional fuzzy consent, heteronormativity (even if yes, there is a token gay character), body image). The plot itself is interesting and I'm enjoying the twists, though. Also, the spice is pretty good, would give a 4/5 (esp recommend if you like multiple participants, I just wish they would also interact with each other, not just the MFC, because again, wasted potential...)
