A very a classic fantasy novel! Although it's somewhat slow in places, Eragon does a great job of displaying a journey from start to finish, not just a physical, literal one, but one of the mind of a young boy developing into an adult warrior

I first read this when this came out (I was in middle school then), and now I've just read it again as an adult. As many have said, it is super trope-y, but it's to be expected when it's the work of a 16-year-old. Beat for beat, it's basically Star Wars: A New Hope, but with dragons. I remember really liking this as a kid, but it's super violent, which I don't so much like now.
