Amazing to read such a classic and enjoy it so much. Extra amazing having prior knowledge on vampire theory since I wrote a chapter of my dissertation on vampires. It was as interesting to identify common themes and similarities with Carmilla, and made the experience more enjoyable.
The novel did go on way longer than what felt necessary. I would struggle to get through it if i read in physical form.
Would still love to read again physically and annotate with tabs etc

The ending was so anticlimatic and it pissed me off, but I enjoyed the rest of the story. It was very atmospheric and I loved the relationships between the characters.
Also, we did not see enough of Dracula or vampires in general for my taste.

Obviously a classic, but found the book fairly dull in some parts.
This was such a drag. So slow and ridiculous, I truly gained no insight into the story by reading it over simply watching Dracula: Dead and Loving It again, other than the inclusion of the American cowboy Quincey. There were so many points where I was like why are we spending 30 pages to describe how everyone’s letters and journals were combined?

This was unexpectedly scary, tense and exciting for me. I personally felt a bit of erotism in this, but maybe that's just my rotten mind. It was great!! Not 5/5 only because I remember reading it in chunks, it didn't consume me immediately. But what a classic!!
