It took a bit for the protagonist to stop cycling through “lying by omission won’t hurt anyone involved, right?”, but once she did, it was truly a fun time w a delightful amount of sincere moments.

This was a cute, feel good romance that didn’t shy away from tackling tough themes. I appreciated the vulnerability and growth the characters had in the novel. It didn’t feel like one romantic jump to the next but actually had a good growth arc. I think the back and forth of the main characters might drive some people crazy as it hinders the romance aspect a bit but I appreciated the character growth taking precedence over the romance moments sometimes.

I did enjoy this a lot. Theo was a great romantic lead from start to finish. Marcela was a more difficult heroine to follow; I was frustrated with her at times but I always understood her.

Must read for anyone that has had a situationship. The amount of chemistry and honesty the main couple had with one another was so refreshing. It flowed really well, no lags. Finished in less than 12 hours. Cannot wait to read the writer’s next book!

This was a really cute book! I ate it up… Marcela had been in love with Ben for almost a decade when he got engaged to his longtime girlfriend. The twist is that Ben’s brother Theo is in love with said girlfriend, now-fiancée, Alice. Marcela foils Theo’s drunken plot to try convince Alice to not marry Ben at their engagement party. Theo goes home with Marcela to sleep off the alcohol and because he is staying with Ben and Alice, so when they go to brunch the next morning together, everyone assumes they hooked up. They kind of run with the idea to try to get over their respective unrequited loves and then chaos ensues. Feelings develop, complications happen, truths come out. I was hooked and had to know why Ben and Theo had a strained relationship (before Alice even came into the picture) and why Ben was so insufferable. The writing was cute and funny and I enjoyed the side characters and representation. Thank you to NetGalley for the ARC!

This Latina librarian living in San Antonio and living with so many doubts had me wrapped up and falling love from the first word! This steamy, heartfelt debut romance with witty banter and irresistible chemistry just absolutely swept me off your feet.

Marcella is a rollercoaster of emotions, and at times frustrating, but damn, I guess that’s what heartbreak trauma leaves you with.

And Theo…swooooooooooon!! He is ever the leading-man character! And the unplanned, no-strings-attached fling between him and Marcela is
🌶️🌶️🌶️YES PLEASE!🌶️🌶️🌶️ with lots of heat in the library stacks and beyond!

This had humor, heartache and a whole lotta swooooon and everyone go read it!
