meh was expecting more vampires and more humor, but luv ya bro
Pretty fun book with the emperor and his men being the most entertaining characters. Fun read but not engaging enough to continue the series.
Not as clever and enjoyable as Sacre Bleu. Maybe in an attempt to parody a pulp novel, he got stuck in the same cheesiness that makes them pulp, like 2 dimensional characters, stereotypes, etc (especially with the lead female character). As a result, I was not inspired to care much about the characters or the outcome.
Such a good book! Vampire love story meets murder mystery and of course some good old fashioned comedic gore! Laughed out loud and couldn't put it down!

This was a really fun, quirky read. The main characters are adorable and funny, and I really enjoyed San Francisco and Safeway after hours as a backdrop.
Entertaining light-hearted vampire story set in San Francisco. Nice little digs at kindergoth culture.
While not as good as Lamb or Fool, this book still was very enjoyable. Okay, maybe I should only read one vampire book at a time so that I don't get confused about what really does harm a vampire, but even with that complication, I found this an easy-to read and easy-to-enjoy story. There were several places that made me laugh aloud -- always a good thing in a book -- and the characters, despite the improbability of the situation and much of the telling, really do come to life. I'm amazed that any author can pull that off.
Some of my favorite parts of the story took place in the store with the Animals.
I do plan to read the next book in this line, probably even soon.
