DNF at 45%. I was having trouble with getting into the narration style.

Woof. I had so much hope for this book and it was a complete letdown. The characters were ridiculous, even lending yourself to believe this is more of a comedic book and less serious than the plot synopsis would lead you to believe. The 80s motif I was excited for was virtually non existent save for a few Madonna and cocaine references.

The plot was slow and plodding without much happening. A bunch of amateur detectives stumbling across $4 million by accident and not much else.

Maybe the last third of the book improved, but I doubt it. 1 star from me.

I didn’t expect to read the whole thing in one setting this morning! It was a super fun quick read, I liked all the different POVs, the setting, and how the women eventually came together/started liking each other. Looking forward to the sequel whenever it’s published in non-audiobook format!
