This book is one of the very few that have given me a nightmare or two.

I have this thing with passing by a window and seeing someone pressed against it or just being stared at unknowingly in general. Which happens at one point.

I would definitely recommend this book to anyone looking for a spook or five.

Was caught up in the story and the creepy things happening to and stalking the main characters. Appreciated the author’s note at the end for context on the Indigenous rep and inspiration in this book. Took off half a star because the family secret and denial that was hidden from Faye (and maybe both sisters?) was kind of confusing to me.

after finding out about the death of her brother, I expected the family to have kept it so secret because Faye accidentally caused it when she was 5 (like she hit her mom or her mom had to save her and in the process lost him).

The reason for her parents and sister continuing to keep it secret from Faye even as an adult while her life was unravelling because of it and it was clearly causing her mental anguish didn’t make sense for me and that brought me out of the book a bit.

This is the creepiest book I have ever read and I loved every minute of it. The ending was a bit disappointing, but overall I think it is worth the read
