My first read through of this for a few years, a lovely tribute to the beautiful and not so pretty side of the beautiful game.

A nice way to get ready for the World Cup and an enjoyable read for fans of football.

Very enjoyable history of football, especially World Cups. The old stuff is really cool, and the entire book is very well written.

A fantastic series of vignettes about the history of our beautiful game. Galeano writes about football the way Messi and Maradona play it, with an unbridled passion and joy.

A poetic and heartfelt history of football, exploring both its beauty and its ugliness, both its joy and its despair. Beautiful.
