This is the first chapter book I’ve read with my daughter that she loved, and for that reason, it will hold a special place in my heart . Its silly and fun, but looking for the relationship with the sisters to be healed in coming books.

I read this to my kids (9 yr. old girl, 6 yr. old boy, 4 yr. old boy) in 2 days because no one wanted to stop reading. My daughter went ahead and read the 2nd and 3rd books in one sitting each because she didn't want to wait for us. It was imaginative, had pictures on every page, short chapters, interesting characters. Didn't really like the hiding from mom to stay out of trouble and sister throwing fits type stuff, by hey, I guess it's reality.

- This was a cute book about two unlikely friends.

- There wasn't a lot to the plot. The story is mostly about these two girls meeting and getting to know each other.

- Gnome really liked this book. She liked the characters.

- The illustrations were cute, and there are a lot of them.

- I probably wouldn't continue the series, but Gnome wants to read more.

Great early novels for girls. Our 6 year old once she started this series couldn't put the books down. She loved the stories of these two girls and the adventures they got up to.

tried reading this to the preschooler. she liked it, but i think it was a little too heavy and slow for her -- if you can really say that about a book like this lol. but for a preschool read-aloud yes. we got about half way and she wanted to keep going, but we got distracted and she forgot about it and never asked to finish it. give it one more year and i think it will be a winner

Give this one to kids you trust have a good moral compass. If not, read together and discuss acceptable and mean-spirited pranks. Lovely friendship though!

I don't love how mean they are. And I don't want to read that kind of mean with my girls.

Cute story and characters. I liked the focus on an unlikely friendship and imagination/teamwork. The relationship between Bean and her older sister was unoriginal and tired. G loved it and the second book.
