I have mixed feelings. The first 100 pages were good and I was very interested in which way this story was gonna develop. But then things got BORING. Nothing happened, the stupid love triangle came into the story and it really was hard to continue this. The love triangle was just awful. It felt very forced and unnecessary. Also the connection between Willow and Seb was kinda awkward...
Thankfully the last 200 pages were good! I just love my Willow and Alex together so Seb can go to hell.

So I've had this book on my to-read shelf for a very long time and I finally picked it up. One thing that is clear from this novel is that my reading tastes have definitely changed since then.
So there are 2 major storylines in this novel. There is the love triangle and then there is the big plot against the angels. My biggest problem with this book is that the love triangle takes centre stage. This novel is 638 pages. It did not need to be this long. To me it seemed that every 2 pages there was a mention of how much they loved each other or someone agonized over the love triangle. This book could have been a lot shorter had that been eliminated. I really think that I would have enjoyed the novel way more if there wasn't as many mentions of the love triangle.
It was a pretty easy read, you don't have to think much about what is going on. I also thought that it was interesting we got all kinds of different perspectives in this novel. It definitely added to the story. It gives the reader a little bit more information and it is interesting to see how the characters react to it.
I honestly just think that this series is no longer for me.

This is my DB for May, and was a buddy read with Alison from Winged Reviews. Since Ali's review is so accurate I think I will link it here as well, in case I forgot a point or two.

This is my second ever angel book, I mean my second ever book purely based on angels. And I am sad to say this disappointed me. The first book in my opinion was waaaaaay better and I gave it four stars. There was one star off, since I guess I shouldn't read books with too much romance but I loved the basic story line and the action.
This book on the other hand was 700 pages of drama. When the book started I was like "OH no....." because if you have read the blurb you would know that there is a love triangle in this one.
Yes a love triangle! A stupid love triangle!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 ARGH!
Is it a requirement for YA novels to have love triangles? They are bare-able in most novels, but this one was just a pain.
You would think that the book being so big that it would have a lot of plot and action and some cool chapters of awesomeness. Oh you are going to be proved wrong. If I had a chance to modify this book, I would probably cut out 300 pages of useless, unessecary conversation, thoughts, and actions. I know in YA books, the main chracters make A LOT of stupid descions, but this was way too much to handle.
In the view of young-adult(me) I would say I don't think there are any teens like the ones in this book with the ability to feel such emotions, so revolting. We are not that immature. COme to think of it, I don't think there are teens who live nowadays, and love two boys at that same time.
Well that is just my view, if authors still think teen girls love this "being in love with two hot guys at the same time" well whatever *shrugs*
Now if you think I hate lengthy books, well I don't most of my favourite novels are huge.
But thought this books was looking big, it wasn't really that big, so if you are not reading it since its big I think you should read it. Its not that big, and you could read it quickly if you try to like read. In fact once I told myself I will read it, I actually force-finished it after a week or so.
Also the characters took me by surprise in this book!! I mean Willow and Alex were not like this in the first book I was really shocked. Oh well, plus Alex and Willow were such a prefectly lovely couple.
Uh-huh so NOTHING LASTS FOREVER.....
And when the action came I was like

So the ending was perfect!!!! :) Definetly saved this book for me! :)

This book made we want to weep.
Why you may ask?
Because the second love interest was treated like shit throughout the book. And he didn't deserve it.
Being the good guy that he is. He sticks around and lets what's-her-face abuse him.
UH!

Wowsers!!! I could not wait to read this book. I was a little put off by the immense size of it…709 pages!!! But, I was engrossed in every single one of them:)
I adore Willow, but, there were some points in this book that she really annoyed me! How could she be so insensitive???
Any who, Alex was his charming self and I fell in love with him all over again! He honestly and truly loves Willow with all of his heart and soul! Any girl would be lucky to have that kind of love in their life.
The book started off with introducing the character of Seb. The prologue alone, was enough to pull me right back into the storyline. He plays a major role in this book. He definitely throws a wrench between Alex and Willow. I am still not quite sure of my feelings for him. I think he is good for Willow, disastrous for Alex and still not sure of his good guy qualities. But, I am positive we will see much more of him in the next book.
We were introduced to a number of new characters in this sequel. We did not really get to know them on a personal level, since this book was basically about Willow and Seb finding each other. Then throw in the love square (and I do mean square, not triangle) this does not leave much left for any other disasters.
I am very happy that I read this book and I still love Ms. Weatherly’s take on the angels that she created. I find the story fascinating that they are the bad guys. The next book, Angel Fever, is due out in October 2012.
“Alex propped himself against the metal railing where Willow had just stood. “Okay, let’s get something straight,” he said in Spanish.”If you think I don’t know you’re after my girlfriend, you’re crazy. And if you try to put any sleazy moves on her while you’re here, you’re going to regret it.” Seb’s knapsack was at his feet. He took out a pack of cigarettes; tapped out the last one and lit it.Settling back against the door jamb, he gave Alex a considering, faintly humorous look. “Sleazy moves?” he repeated. “Don’t worry, I don’t do sleazy moves.”
“Let me rephrase,” said Alex coldly “Any moves, just keep your hands off her.”

GAAAAAAH. Ok. First thing that is inexplicable and horrible: The male main character (Alex) suddenly has a southern accent. After being accent-less in the first audio book. And I think it's the same narrator. Which makes no sense.
The non-character plot is amazing: the whole angels being evil, fight the angels is wonderful and interesting and creative. However, the whole ANGST!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thing is horrible. If you remove Willow mooning over Alex, and Willow wondering about Seb, and Seb mooning over Willow, and Alex obsessing over the fact that Seb likes Willow even though Willow chose him, you would have a really, really good book. At the moment, it's pretty excruciating. Especially since I listen to it in 20 minute snippets on the way to work, and I swear there have been entire drives where it's just AAAAANNNNNNGGGGSSSSSTTTTTTT!
I am getting the next book from the library in paper form. I can't listen to any more of this, but I do want to see how the plot ends.

ANGEL FIRE is a very entertaining, fun, and action packed read. It's a very unique book about angels that will intrigue younger teens.
What it lacks, however, is a straight forward plot. I enjoy a book that gets right to the point. Not a book that spends hundreds of pages on a useless love triangle. ANGEL FIRE unfortunately had that. Seb is very crucial to the plot but it was unnecessary for him to be a love interest.
This would have been better if there was no love triangle. I mean, DEAR GOD DID IT GO ON FOREVER. Willow, Alex, and Seb just went ON, and ON about their petty love triangle. Alex, if Willow says Seb is just a friend, HE IS JUST A FRIEND. Why can't you just trust her? There was more time spent on the love triangle than there was spent on the actual story.
I understand how someone could love this book. It's just too long for me to give a damn. A lot of pages were unnecessary and not crucial to the story. I should've just skimmed most of it.

Great read and so many unexpected twists and turns. For such a large book it was a fast read, keeping your attention. Such craziness but in the most wonderful way.
