A good story idea but I didn’t like the descriptions of autism and how one of the characters describes the need to train kids so their behaviour is more “desirable”. This same character also gets on her high horse about using person-first language which irritated me.

My Review ✨

➡️ SWIPE 4 SYNOPSIS ➡️

Under Her Care by Lucinda Berry

If there is one thing Ms Berry does well, it’s creepy fucked up kids. And creepy fucked up adults. Well this book definitely took me a little bit longer than usual to get into, once it hit that 43% mark – I was flying. I had to know what happened I had to know what was going on.

Plot- The plot centered around autism and well some people may think what she wrote and how she read it was controversial, I read it as a work of fiction and actually thought she did pretty well encapsulating autism. I felt like Mrs. Walker was excellently informed and I loved her character.

writing- lucinda did a really good job of writing a book that didn’t feel to movie script ish, but did pack some really good action scenes. I loved the alternating point of view chapters and the fact that Lucinda really had me guessing the whole book what was going on.

Ending- The reason why I didn’t get four stars was because of the beginning and the ending. The beginning was extremely slow, and the ending was a little bit over the top and far-fetched. There were a few things that didn’t get fully explained in my eyes. But the book was really really good.

My Rating: ⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️
