Well that was . . . meh. I was curious to see how things tied together—because I definitely figured out where this was going early on—but I was definitely never on the edge of my seat. While the overall idea is horrifying and Genevieve is a freaking monster (as well as petty, immature, and petulant), the execution was kind of shallow and the end was pretty rushed. Plus there were still a few loose ends and that annoys me.

Lucinda Berry does it again!! This is my second book by Lucinda and I am officially hooked !! This book had me hooked from the first page, and didn't stop!!!

When the mayor of a town in Alabama is found murdered under a bridge, Mason Hill, the autistic son of former Miss USA, is found standing over her body. Of course the people are quick to accuse him, but Genevieve will do anything to defend and protect her son. The town detective calls in autism expert, Casey Walker to help consult on the case. While she tries to keep an open mind, she quickly discovers that Genevieve is doing a little more than protecting her son. The more she digs, the more shocking the discoveries.

This book was so good !! I love how Lucinda Berry takes her expertise, and turns her real life experiences into twisty thrillers. She has a way of making you hate the villains so much that it works so perfect. The motherhood element in this book is very strong, and shows how different mothers can be. The characters were great, the pacing was quick and the twist was crazy. I loved it and can't wait to read more !!!

Thank you Thomas & Mercer, Netgalley, and Lucinda Berry for an advanced readers copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
