This was a good pallet cleanser. It wasn’t as spicy or as much of a plot as the first book. But in this moment, it is what I needed. It’s one of those novellas that you randomly pick up to get you through the day.

I actually really liked Catalina as a character. I think she would've screamed a little more (out of anger) but hey! Maybe I'm wrong

I think the problem with these books will always be that there isn't enough pages. In this book specifically, it would've benefitted from being a bit longer for Thane to actually grovel and for them to talk through their issues rather than just one day everything is fine

Idk I still liked it lol

This was a disappointing second installment in this series. The main characters were angry and self centered but, because it was needed for the story, also wisely introspective. The relationship became more of an emotional whirlwind than the first story, going so far as to pause steamy scenes for personal reflections! The resolution motivation was unconvincing to me and too abrupt. Skip this one and just reread the first.

Note, tons of trigger warnings in this book as well. The audio had a list in the intro section which was nice. And you should definitely search out if you have triggers.

Probably the first time I've ever disliked a main character from one of Katee's books. I get why they are the way they are, but I just didn't vibe with either other of them to be honest.

Good but not as good as the dragon one, the sex scenes didn't feel as earned ig
