A collection of short stories set in the near future. I read this based on a recommendation from NPR. I'd often be a little bored and maybe even a little put off by the plot, but I'd read along hoping for some cool twist or interesting ending, but then the stories would just end with a whimper and I'd feel like I just wasted my time. Maybe the next story would be better? But then it wasn't.
This is a book of several post-apocalyptic short stories by the same author. I really enjoy post-apocalyptic fiction, but all the stories were...eh. I didn't bother to read the last couple.
what an AMAZING collection of sf stories. (however -- skip the 1st story and come back to it after finishing the collection, because it is pretty disturbing and may put some people off. which would be sad because this book is so good!)
Some of the stories rate 5 stars from me while others rate a lot lower. An interesting take on post-apocalyptic short stories - the normalness really stood out against some of the apocalypses.
