This was such a curl up with a hot chocolate, a throw and a cosy fire background book, I really enjoyed the plot and loved the characters.
Holly is lost she's recently split from her boyfriend (tbh she wasn't really into the relationship) she's estranged from her sister and parents due to a car accident that happened a few years ago and she feels responsible, and her best friend is planning her wedding to an amazing man.
Abi (Hollys best friend) suggests she join an anonymous letter writing programme where you write to other lonely people esp. around the festive period and it's a way you can put down what you feel, and the other person won't know it's you.
After Holly receives a letter from Emma, she can't just sit by and do nothing she feels a need to go to her, which leads to a series of events that feel like fate inc the fact that Emma's grandson is the same Jack who Holly met a few years ago on the night of the very accident that changed Hollys relationship with her family and how she feels about herself. We see the story unfold over a year and the pace was a good steady flow.
There is mention of miscarriage and loss in this book but its written very well.

A cute, Christmas-themed romance - what I liked about it was dealing with grief/bitterness, family estrangement, etc. And the romance didn't occur within 2 weeks of Christmas as some Christmas romances can do, but more like starting with one Christmas and ending with another.

This is a cute, tender story about forgiveness. Only like 1/4 of the book happens during Christmas, and I wish there was better character development. But I'd still recommend.
Very cute story. Definitely made me cry in parts.
4.5 stars
This was my first Emily Stone book and I didn't read the blurb so I was very surprised by the direction the book took early on.
I was expecting a fun Christmas book but in the end it was so much more.
It's a story about how we need to forgive ourselves for past mistakes and move forward in life. The plot deals with second chance but not in a romantic way but with family, how it's never too late to reconnect with our loved ones and enjoy life despite our grief.
The book deals with some heavy subjects like death of a parent, miscarriage and cancer.
My maternal grandma died from Pancreatic cancer so it was very hard for me to listen to the parts about Emma's illness.
Overall I really enjoyed Love, Holly and I plan to read more books by Emily Stone.
