Another great Christmas novel by Emily Henry. Holly and Emma come to meet and become friends due to similar circumstances involving car accidents and family strife in the aftermath. What I most appreciated about this book was that while there were plenty of opportunities for standard rom-com tropes (misunderstandings, lengthy lies or made up stories), the characters were by and large upfront and honest. The misunderstandings that were there were quickly resolved. This helped me to like the characters more. I enjoyed this book and would recommend it for your Christmas reading stack.

Another Christmastime tug on your heart strings book written by Emily Stone. I've got her next one on the TBR list already.
Holly has her meet cute with an amazing guy, then hours later tragedy happens and her sister doesn't speak to her anymore. Holly becomes so lonely she joins a letter writing group. Strangers write letters about their grief to other lonely people, knowing the letters are not supposed to be answered. But this year the letter Holly receives she can't shake knowing the place the writer talks about so she answers the letter. What follows is a story of befriending a stranger, helping them find their estranged grandson (who happens to be very familiar to Holly), and building back her relationship with her sister after so many years of no communication, and finding love after heartbreak.

A perfect combo of holiday romance with real life situations. I really enjoyed Holly, main character, all her quirks. I think this would make for a good Netflix movie.
Not a 5-star because it didn’t make me sob crying like all other Emily Stone books.
“Some people you know for a lifetime, but they never really make an imprint on your soul - and some people you only have to know for an instant to know they will be part of you forever”

Emily Stone does it again!
She’s got this magnificent way of writing heartfelt stories that relate to Christmas time without making it a rushed experience. All of her characters have depth and charm.
If you like reading romances that are real and have a meaningful plot, this book is for you! If you believe in fate and enjoy stories about loneliness, forgiveness, and grief, this book is for you.
I loved Holly and Jack and their intertwined story of fate and love. Emily's stories keep getting better and better and I will be reading all of them going forward.
“We found each other. I think we were always meant to find each other.”
Things I loved:
Only one bed
Christmas meet cute
Real and raw love story
Fate

The cover and the title are a little misleading. Yes, this would be considered a romance, but it's also more than that too. It beautifully deals with loss, grief and guilt. And it game me a smile even as my eyes teared up.
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Full warning, this is definitely a heavier Christmas book than most, with trigger warnings of death, cancer and fertility issues (all handled well).
There were so many times in the first half of the book that I wanted to shake the FMC and DNF, but I’m glad I persisted. Holly is full of contradictions; she shy but a meddler, intrudes in strangers lives but ignores her own issues. While Jack wasn’t perfect, I did like him more and he’s why I kept reading.
Overall, a good message that you shouldn’t put off living your life, you never know what might happen
