It was definitely interesting. Shepherd boy has to save the world :)
A book filled with inconsistencies, clichés, repetition and characters without personality. Frustrating to read.
I had high hopes for this book. Then you get to page 159 and everything makes no sense. Super fan fiction-y. I don't get why Thor is suddenly a part of the family, and the whole insta-love thing happening. Just blah. Could've been waaaaay better if the writer just took her time to form relationships.
The plot was interesting though clichéd. The writing style was often horrendously over-the-top, however, especially when describing feelings. 1.5 stars.
Absolutely brilliant book.
I’d say it’s true adventure novel with the similar traits of Game of Thrones ( but without all the graphic gore & soft porn ) - this novel was much more delightful to read as the writing was great, the plot thickened & there are so many threads left hanging that one is eager to start the next book of the 17 book series!
What will happen to Gareth - will he be caught as the one who bought the poison to kill the King?
What will happen to Erec in the year that he is gone?
Will Thor be saved from jail & be seen as a hero?
5 / 5 ⭐️

Think Game of Thrones meets The Name of the Wind. But written for a younger audience.
Pretty good. A little slow and redundant at first, but I'm curious enough at the end to read the second one and see if I want to keep reading the series.

I was really disappointed in this book. It was really terribly written and it was just so cliche in many ways. I expected more from this author.
